Disease Reporting
Under the Disease Prevention and Control Act and state regulations, physicians are required to report diseases and other conditions to public health authorities.
Public health authorities are charged with instituting communicable disease control measures including:
- Examination of people suspected of being infected or a carrier
- Isolation of infected persons and carriers
- Quarantine of exposed people
