Maintaining Your License to Practice Medicine
Medical doctor licenses expire on Dec. 31 of each even year, while osteopathic licenses expire on Oct. 31 of each even year.
MDs must complete 100 CME hours, which include a minimum of 20 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ and 12 patient safety hours. DOs must complete 100 CME credit hours, including 20 AOA Category 1-A hours and 12 patient safety hours.
